![]() RS3 is friendlier to new players I think (in particular, some of the characters have an easier go of it). In my opinion, Scarlet Grace and RS2 are somewhat difficult starting points. SaGa Frontier will be the latest one to get a remaster treatment come next summer. SaGa: Scarlet Grace is the newest modern SaGa title (originally a PSP Vita release, but also on PS4, PC now iirc). Romancing SaGa 2 and 3 recently got wider releases to PC/PS4/etc. My sense for the series difficulty is somewhat skewed because I've played the series a long time. Many of the old school games like Romancing SaGa 1 or 2 can be somewhat difficult, and Unlimited SaGa was also famously obtuse. The original Gameboy games were simpler (read: easier), and some SaGa-like games of the past few years (The Alliance Alive) are also probably a bit easier. In the end it's all achievable whether you use the exploit or not, so I've never bothered with it.RS RS has a stronger tie to Romancing SaGa 3 than most of the series games have to each other.Īs far as a good game to start with, SaGa Frontier isn't a bad option (I get the impression it was the first SaGa for a lot of people here). You just have the ability to buy equipment earlier to speed things up a bit, but a well planned and played group with the right skills isn't exactly that far behind on clearing speed. Yeah I've never used them but I've never considered them legit cheating. By the way, aren't you guys EXTATIC to speak about Saga frontier in 2021 ? :D It's actually faster to go through the shingrow ruins to get the money and items to sell. Gold is in the game literally for this reason.Īs for the scrap shop, it's like a quick way to start the gold trade, buying Osc-swords, but by no mean gamebreaking because the items are not awesome stuff (except the lethal gun). You but somewhere at a low price, you sell it elsewhere at a higher price. Plus as someone already said, the gold trick isn't a cheat. I mean, Saga frontier is a clunky game, and even the remaster additions (Like fuse) are also clunky and confusing. The dev kept the exploits in there because it's part of the experience. ![]() Originally posted by G4unT course I'll "cheat" (note the quote marks). Wanna ramp up the difficulty even more? Sacrifice slots. Plenty of bad fighting talents out there. It'd force you to plan harder with your fights. CometBlade would be illegal because Gen is too good by default. ![]() ![]() There's still ways to overcome trash skills: Kisunagi -or- Magatama / Asura / SandVessel. Oh, and if you grind until you have Durahan Shields and overcome characters having talents and everyone learns LifeSprinkler, that's not a challenge either. And with all that maybe the game will have a challenge. I feel like the best way to not cheat is to play characters maining the worst martial/sword talent trees they have, not using mystics/monsters/mecs, no learning spells outside of what you can buy (and buying Time is FORBIDDEN). Selling Duel Rifle and the armor from Shingrow Ruins for 6k and using it to get some cheap gear for strong Mecs seems pretty cheat-y too. ![]() Obviously Junk Shop and Takonomics are cheating. Mesarthim feels too strong but hard to pass up. Not using Time Magic is hard (because it's the most broken magic in the entire game, even without the broken gift with Overdrive). ![]()
